How One Powerful Question Can Inspire Your Success?

July 11, 2017

Happy thoughts lead to happy living. What if you woke up tomorrow and everything you wanted came true. And all of your dreams and wishes had been fulfilled. What would you be experiencing?

I hope you listed some emotions like joy, happiness, peace, well-being, etc. This is a powerful question and it is one that you can really sink into for a few moments.

The power of this question lies in your ability to see and imagine the future and what will happen when you accomplish your long-term goals. This is an important positive mental state to keep in your back pocket for when you need it later.

How One Powerful Question Can Inspire Your Success?

Being able to imagine the future is how most successful people get to the end of their goals with thriving results. If you can really imagine this positive mental state (the end) and feel all the wonder and bliss that comes with it, then you can use this state anytime things turn to crap and times get rough. Life happens, there is nothing perfect about it, except for the fact that it is perfectly unpredictable.

Many people set goals and don’t know what to expect. When boulders and barriers fall from the sky, their goals may seem impossible or unrealistic. Yet, nothing is impossible, sometimes we just need to get creative and figure out others ways to get around these obstacles.

Seeing the end in mind offers a resilient mentality that helps people to power through the tough times and not quit. The idea that this “too shall pass” can empower people to achieve their long-term goals. This unique ability to keep going no matter what is called grit. According to Angela Duckworth,

Grit is the tendency to sustain interest in and effort toward very long-term goals. Self-control is the voluntary regulation of behavioral, emotional, and attentional impulses in the presence of momentarily gratifying temptations or diversions.

Here is amazing Ted Talk from Angela Lee Duckworth on grit that you might enjoy:

Final thoughts

Friedrich Nietzsche says, “That which does not kill you makes you stronger!” Anything worth having is worth fighting for. So even when this imperfect world throws boulders from the sky taking you off track of your path, if you can imagine the end state of your success, then you can imagine a creative path to get there. Here are some thoughts from Marianne Williamson to take you through your day with resilience and hope for success:

“Nothing binds you except your thoughts; nothing limits you except your fear; and nothing controls you except your beliefs.”

Maribel Valls, MPH

Hey there, I'm Maribel Garcia Valls, and I'm all about vintage curation, room design, and graphic design. I've been obsessed with design ever since I was a kid, and I would always rearrange and style different spaces in my house. Thrift stores and garage sales are my jam, and I love discovering unique and eclectic pieces to add to my collection. When it comes to design, I'm all about pops of color and creating quirky and fun digital designs. I'm also a yoga and meditation teacher, and I use these tools as a way to express my creativity, along with journaling. While I have a Masters in Public Health and a Master's Certificate in Executive Coaching, my heart is always drawn to the more creative arts. For me, design is not just a hobby, it's a way of life. I believe that good design should be accessible to everyone, and I'm always on the lookout for inspiration in the world around me. Vintage curation, room design, writing, graphic design, and drawing are just a few of my passions, and I'm constantly exploring and expanding my skills with each new project. You can find my vintage booth at the Antique Gallery Round Rock: Booth C-22.
