Can we really manifest our thoughts? I go back and forth on this idea. It seems like an easy thing to do. If you want something, then you think about it. And poof… there it is. Is that really how it works?
What if you don’t get what you want, then what? Practitioners who study and practice the Law of Attraction would say, “Oh you didn’t get what you wanted because you were resistant to having it.”
When I first heard this, I was very frustrated because, like many other people, when I want something, I want it now. Also, this idea of instant manifestation just seemed too farfetched and woo woo for me at the time.
Still, the more I studied and practiced this concept, the more I began to see some truth in this idea of manifestation. Then the question became, “how does this work?”
The answer is simple, but it can be very hard to swallow. You must let go! Let go of what?
Imagine that you are standing on top of the tallest mountain and you are forced to jump for your survival. You begin free falling in hopes that something or someone will safely catch you before you hit the ground. It is blind faith that everything will be okay.
That’s what letting go means. It’s scary and there are certainly lots of unknowns. But sometimes it is very necessary to let go to get what you want in life. It’s like that famous quote that says, “Let go and let God.”
Wow, what a concept? Can we really go through life without ever worrying about anything and everything will be okay? I am starting to believe so. Yogi Bhajan once said, “I don’t believe in miracles, I rely on them.”
When we are children, we dream of so many impossible things. And as we get older, the adults in our lives tell us to “grow up and stop dreaming.” What if the “dreaming part” is the key to a happy life?
Of course, as humans, we often take something so simple and make it so damn complicated. Mostly because we are scared to venture out into something that is way bigger than us. Something out of our comfort zone.
The idea of manifestation is pretty cool to think about. Whether you believe in it or not, our words do have a lot of power over our actions. So just notice what you say to yourself and see what happens.

- What do I really want?
- Why do I really want it?
- What will it be like when I have what I want?
- Am I ready to have this thing that I want?
- Am I resistant to having this thing that I want, if so why?
