The Ultimate Guide to Building Walls in Your Antique Booth: Tips and Tricks
Hey there, vintage curators! As an antique mall booth owner, I know that creating a space that catches the eye and stands out from the crowd is key to making those sales. And when it comes to styling or building walls in your booth, you gotta get creative! So, let’s dive into some quirky and fun ways to make those walls shine.
Stick and Peel Wallpaper: Want to add some pizzazz to your booth? Look no further than stick and peel wallpaper. It’s a quick, fuss-free option to bring in color and patterns. You can find it in any design you can dream of on Amazon or Spoonflower. My favorite part of stick-and-peel wallpaper is the ability to switch it up seasonally. Or you could also pick a wallpaper with a timeless style and leave it year round. And when you’re ready for a change, just peel it off without worrying about damaging the existing walls.
Paint: A classic choice for a reason, painting your walls is a great way to add some texture and personality to your booth. Go wild with your color choice and finish – matte or glossy, it’s up to you! However, and this is a big however, before you paint your booth, ask the mall if it’s okay. Some malls don’t allow you to paint your booths.
Pre-fab walls: More like pre-fabulous walls! When you’re crunched for time, these walls are the perfect solution. They’re fast, easy, and totally customizable to fit your one-of-a-kind booth needs. You can go for a classic plywood look or really shake things up with some reclaimed wood. Then you can get creative with paint, texture, or whatever your heart desires.
Pegboards: Who says you can’t have it all? Pegboards are a multitasker, folks! You can use it to hang your merch, create some extra shelving, or display your favorite artwork. The possibilities are endless! And hey, you can paint or decorate it to match your booth’s vibe.
We built a budget-friendly DIY giant or oversized pegboard wall for my booth. It gave it style, versatility, and function in one go! We painted it navy blue, added some lighting, and boom. And the best part? It didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I used plywood and 2×4 wood, drilled some holes, and inserted dowels to hold shelves.
Curtain Craze: Who wouldn’t want to snuggle up in a cozy curtain cocoon? They’re the perfect addition to your booth walls, making your space feel warm and intimate. With a plethora of fabrics and styles to choose from, you’ll find your perfect match.
Personally, I styled my booth with a cream cotton blend with a textured look for a few months, but then I wanted to switch things up. I snagged some gorgeous grey velvet panels from West Elm at a thrift store for a fraction of the retail cost, and jeez, did they transform the space!
Vintage doors: Wanna add some serious charm to your booth? Use vintage doors as your walls! You can paint or decorate them to fit your booth’s aesthetic and use them as a backdrop for your merchandise.
Shelves: Get that merch displayed with some creative shelving options! Use wood or metal to make shelves that match your booth’s look, and watch the sales roll in.
Furniture: Why not go all out and use furniture as your booth walls? It adds some serious texture and dimension to your space. Think outside the box – bookshelves, dressers, you name it!
The walls of your antique booth are a crucial aspect of your space. But don’t let them be a snooze-fest! Get quirky and creative with your wall-building techniques. Whether you choose stick-and-peel wallpaper, paint, pre-fab walls, pegboards, curtains, vintage doors, shelves, or furniture, the options are endless. So let your imagination run wild and create a booth that’ll have everyone talking!

Hey there, I'm Maribel Garcia Valls, and I'm all about vintage curation, room design, and graphic design. I've been obsessed with design ever since I was a kid, and I would always rearrange and style different spaces in my house. Thrift stores and garage sales are my jam, and I love discovering unique and eclectic pieces to add to my collection. When it comes to design, I'm all about pops of color and creating quirky and fun digital designs. I'm also a yoga and meditation teacher, and I use these tools as a way to express my creativity, along with journaling. While I have a Masters in Public Health and a Master's Certificate in Executive Coaching, my heart is always drawn to the more creative arts. For me, design is not just a hobby, it's a way of life. I believe that good design should be accessible to everyone, and I'm always on the lookout for inspiration in the world around me. Vintage curation, room design, writing, graphic design, and drawing are just a few of my passions, and I'm constantly exploring and expanding my skills with each new project.
